Outline for Pre-Final Presenation and Final

LTL_Building 82_5

I would propose the following CONCISE presentation of +/- 35 slides for the pre-final next Friday and the final review the following Wednesday, March 12th. Again, use / coordinate as much of the words, diagrams, icons, indicators, highlight colors, graphics, content and header template from the urban analysis tools as possible- this is essential for the overall understanding of the studio term.  Please discuss/propose to me variations in content and order.  Any dimensioned drawings should consider adding icons, type and even swatches of materials as per the Morphosis plans shown in class and seen below.  We could also discuss variations Wednesday and or at the Pre-Final on Friday.

[1]  Introduction with two-word title for project/tool and one thumbnail diagram of the unit relationship, key sectional perspective / perspective or diagram.

[2-13]  The 12 slides of your latest urban analysis tool.

[14-20] Urban Design including: linking diagrams to urban analysis tools including indicators applied to building project; district/neighborhood scaled diagrams; maps of indicators on site (‘heat maps’); unit relationships as axons or materials affect; full bleed image of 1-3+ materials; eye-level perspective / sectional perspective; site plan including the ground level plan of the building (and possible zoom-ins of 1-3 key areas); photo of the 1/8″ site model  (perhaps test on 1/32″ site model

[21-27] Urban Envelope including: diagrams from the tool; 1:1 mockup studies and material affect study; full bleed images of material affect; 1″ wall section / axo; optional partial elevation (perhaps a vertical sliver of a larger slide with other content); photo of the 1/8″ partial facade for site model; contribution to sectional perspective

[28-35] Urban Architecture including: parti diagrams in plan and axo as hidden line with possible highlights; program diagrams of general maker/mixed-use program and or scenarios of tenants; 1/8″ section perpendicular to sectional perspective; contribution of sectional perspective; 1/8″ typical floor plan (ground floor plan should be contributed to the urban design site plan); 1/32″ parti model in white or wood (i can bring some black walnut for you all to use if you like and or could be in acrylic- I suggest Tap Plastic’s scraps bin especially 1″ thick acrylic- yummy); 1/8″ partial model showing floors and space for key section/corner and white foam for the remainder of the building; interior perspective;

[36]  Final image of two-word title, parti diagram, list indicators and a repeat of the sectional perspective or exterior perspective.

We should decide what to print as well such as one site plan or the sectional perspective.  I may also ask that you all print an 8 1/2 x 11 book for the jurors to flip through perhaps B&W is fine.

You will also have models of 1/32″ parti models and 1/8″ partial section models.   We may gather all other study models to a central table that you may bring to your final review.

Please, everyone help finish the class models.

!!  This will be a great review !!  Please let me know if you have any questions.

Please let me know if you have questions or comments.
